Bio-Coagulants Reduce Foam in Treated Water

Factory water before and after being treated with Lucent and AlpineFloc.

Wood based coagulants can be dosed at the entry of a Water Treatment Plant, or prior to the biology. Some long term testing shows that, at the entry, the bio-coagulant can decrease the phosphate level at the exit of the plant, as well as reducing the need for metal based coagulants.

Dosages can be as low as 1 ppm, and therefore, the savings in ferric alone pay for the bio-coagulant. The above photo shows how Lucent, in this case coupled with a cationic inverse-emulsion flocculant (AlpineFloc B1) dramatically reduces the amount of foam in the water.
